Confirm you are a researcher
Before taking part in Futures of Maths, please confirm that you are a researcher. You will then receive an anonymous pass for the survey.
Sign in with ORCID
We check that your public ORCID record has at least one journal article in mathematics or a related field that Crossref added for you, rather than one you entered yourself. We do not store your iD, your name or your record.
Continue with ORCIDHow do I get Crossref to add my articles?
When a publisher registers an article that includes your ORCID iD, Crossref asks for permission to update your record. Accept it in your ORCID inbox and make the works public. We look the articles up in zbMATH Open to check they are mathematics or a related field.
Not covered by the automatic check?
If you are a researcher in mathematics or a related field but your ORCID record does not qualify, for example because you are early in your career or publish in other venues, you can ask an independent moderator, who is not part of the research team, to check your eligibility by hand.
Ask for a manual reviewHow does the anonymous pass work?
Your browser creates a random pass and mathematically hides it ("blinds" it) before we sign it. We confirm you are eligible and sign the hidden pass without ever seeing it. Your browser then removes the blinding. The survey can check our signature, but neither we nor anyone else can match the pass to you. This technique is called a blind signature (RFC 9474).
We keep one keyed hash of your ORCID iD (or, after a manual review, your email address) so that each person receives one pass. It is deleted after the survey closes.
